The New York Times ponders whether Alex P. Keaton would be a Republican today and who would get his vote in the 2008 presidential election. The only thing that’s certain is that if Alex Keaton were around today, he’d have a blog.
Thanks to DG superfriend “Chocolate Bear” for the tip
“One is a supporter of Barack Obama, the other is a supporter of Hillary Clinton, and an argument of words turned bloody when one brother-in-law tried to choke the other and the victim then responded with a knife and stabbed his brother-in-law in the stomach.”
The newspaper delicately decided not the publish which brother was for whom. Painting by Titian.
Update: Just realized the Hispanic dude quien gusta stabbing people was for Hillary. Perhaps Barack isn’t doing so well with the Latino vote after all? Anyway, I knew Hillary’s people would pull knives when cornered.
Looks like the very funny Fred Armisen is the new Barack on SNL. Let’s hope we get eight more years of it.
Would have linked to Armisen’s impersonations of Prince, but NBC, in its typically shortsighted and retarded way, has scrubbed the interwebs of clips. Idiots.
Update: NBC has yanked the clip. Idiots. Here it is.
He’s THAT GOOD of a dude: BarackObamaIsYourNewBike.com
The intellectual giants over at Your Nutz are offering classic accessories for guys who honestly think that their truck offers the most convincing case for their virility. And the state of Virginia is trying to ban them! Don’t those congressmen know that freedom of expression takes many forms? Besides, testicles that hang off your license plate merely follows a long line of powerful, radical gestures like Calvin peeing on crappy Japanese-made trucks. Lend your voice to disabled, war-supporting pricks everywhere!

Andrew Sullivan, idiosyncratic conservative that he is, went for Obama awhile ago. Since then he’s been using his massively trafficked blog to capture the thoughts of Republicans and Independents that are supporting Barack. There are some great stories, better than any policy analysis or editorial you could hope to read:
From DG super-friend Julie comes late, breaking news that Snoop Dogg has yet to decide whether he will vote for Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton in tomorrow’s primaries. He talks with Larry King on CNN tonight. I just hope they air his “Sensual Seduction” video (or “Sexual Eruption” if you prefer your metaphors the obvious way) as well—that shizzle goes way back to be on time.
Congrats to everyone who picked “terrorists” and “freedom” as your words to drink to tonight. You’ve had 27 shots of Jim Beam. Anyway, it’s a handy list to have for next year.
Well, I thought the worst was Howard Kurtz’s poor-me routine about not getting round-the-clock access to the Obama campaign. (Al Giordano nailed my response to this.) But Kurtz’s article is nothing compared to Gail Collins’s mind-blowing (and not in a good way) Op-Ed “Beyond the Fringe,” which insults the intelligence of anyone who would vote for a so-called “second-tier candidate.” Why would anyone vote for Mike Gravel? she asks. Um, I don’t know Gail … maybe they don’t like people like you telling them how to vote!
