We don’t always bother with NSFW warnings here at DG, I think it’s part of our charm… HOWEVER, this entry over at Cinema Sewage definitely warrants one. Screen Caps and descriptions of an 80’s exploitation flick called “LAS VEGAS BLOOD BATH”, not for the faint of heart, but kind of hilarious.
David Byrne is still cool.
Playing the building is a sound installation in which the infrastructure, the physical plant of the building, is converted into a giant musical instrument. Devices are attached to the building structure — to the metal beams and pillars, the heating pipes, the water pipes — and are used to make these things produce sound. The activations are of three types: wind, vibration, striking. The devices do not produce sound themselves, but they cause the building elements to vibrate, resonate and oscillate so that the building itself becomes a very large musical instrument.

Last seen in the premier arts/comics crossover anthology, Kramers Ergot, Victor Cayro, aka BALD EAGLES has a web presence again for the first time since ilovevictorcayroandhiscomics.com expired a while back. BALD EAGLES’ obsessive-compulsively detailed imagery, like a melding of S. Clay Wilson, Geoff Darrow & Brian Chippendale, is often auto-biographical in its’ focus- Cayro often shows up as Robocop, alter ego “THE BEARD”, Saturn eating his young, etc., either tormented by inner demons and crass humanity, or tormenting said crass humanity. He also has a penchant for making videos that remind me of a home-grown Paul McCarthy.
Flickr actually seems to be the perfect venue for Cayro, as his need to fill his work with detailed marginalia can actually spill out into the site as well, infecting the descriptions and tags of each page with his free-associative commentary. If you’re not looking at most of those images at full size and reading all the lables, tags, and details of each piece, you’re missing out.

One more image and a video under the cut:

OBAMA/PRIME in ‘08? Hell yes! That’s a ticket I could vote for.
From a run-down of all Obamas’ options for a running mate at MightyGodKing.
They’re baaaaa-aaa-ack! If these came from your site, just holler. We’ll give you credit. We just don’t know where we got all this stuff.
I realize it’s been 30+ years since the Tube Bar tapes and 20+ Years since Moe’s Bar took up the standard, but there’s still something satisfying about a good prank call. Not to mention, now that the internet exists, we can synch up the audio to random video or perhaps some well chosen static image, as with this clip set to a Earles and Jensen cut. Thanks, Al Gore!
Italian street artist/muralist/whatever BLU just posted a pretty mind-blowing animation. Excellent drawings of a constantly morphing body-horror odyssey are animated on walls, streets, sidewalks, etc in Buenos Aires. His site blublu.org is worth a look too.
Charmingly absurd light bulb ad from Thailand, via CalamityJon at the MonsterManual LJ community.
