Kim Keever

You might mistake Keever’s work for paintings that ironically name-check the Hudson River school. Sure, the visual references are arch—we’ve mentioned faux-pastoral work before—but the craft its surprising: These aren’t paintings. They’re actually dioramas created in a 200-gallon tank that’s then filled with water and lit in various, highly ornate ways. After the jump, more work, and shots of the artist’s studio:
