The video for the Battles track Tonto, done by United Visual Artists, leans on a simple arrangement of rods, studded with lights. But that grid has all sorts of nice echoes, including Walter de Maria’s Lightning Field. And the nanosecond precision of the light programming shadows the track brilliantly—minutes 3 through 5 are pretty damn perfect. For my money, this video does for Battles what the Aladdin Sane cover did for Bowie.
